If your in network marketing and direct sales NO is okay

One thing I have realized with the direct sales business is that you need to be okay with the word "No". You are going to hear that word more often then the alternative. It is very hard to hear at first when you are not used to it especially from your friends and family. You will hear it because not everyone will be interested in your business opprotunity. In fact some people will feel offended that you even mentioned it.

One must learn to read people and read up on personality types. Tact is important as well as listening to people to see what they are interested in before moving forward with your opprotunity. You need to be sincere and really want the other person to succeed. But even if you do all of the above you will still hear "No" alot but realize it is just a word and do not take it personally.

Taking Katie Freilings FREE 7 day social media course

I am on day four of Katie Freilings FREE social media course and I have found it to be quite enlightening. There is so much to know about networking on social media sites. Katie Frieling is very popular and really knows what she is doing. Yesterday Katie talked about blogging and I apparently do not know what I am doing. Just starting out in the home business business, it is hard to do everything up to snuff. There is so much to learn. I guess I need to take it one step at a time when I really want to take twenty. I have been taking too many steps and am not excelling at any of them. I need to slow down and learn one thing at a time to do well. The internet has a wealth of information that is free. Katie Freiling.com is one such place. The free information is only the tip of the iceberg but enough to get you started on your journey.

This is harder than it seems!

I thought blogging would be easy to incorporate into my day. I was wrong! I need to think about it and I usually forget. I guess once it becomes a habit things will get easier. I am so preoccupied with trying to get this business off the ground that things get left in the wind. Speaking of my home based business....I have good positive days and bad negetive days. Today I had a ton of negetive energy. I culd feel it hanging around me so I just took the day off. I knew that I would not accomplish anything with my business. Maybe that is just what I needed. A day to regenerate etc... I think we all need days to just be. So take a day to yourself and enjoy life. Shake all those negetive thoughts and feelings out! And just be:)

Comfort Zone

So I have decided that I have to go outside of my comfort zone to jump start this business of mine. I have talked to friends and family and now must move beyond and talk to strangers. It is a bit daunting because you do not know how a someone you do not know will react. Plus, you have to have confidence in yourself so that you do not care if they blow you off or say no way.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can! Wish me luck!

Wanted to show a cool power point presentation but...

I got a very cool power point presentation on 9/11. I found out how to upload it through scribd.com but then realized it would be to share on the website. I did not create the presentation so thus I felt that I should not upload. There were pics I had never seen before. It was powerful. We tend to forget things and it was a good reminder. As I was going through the pics my son came over and asked what the pics were showing. I told him that they were of 9/11. "Have you heard of that?" I asked. He said "yes but that was in first grade, we did not talk about it this year." I was amazed! I cannot believe the school did not take a minute to acknowlege the day. I do not know if I should approach anyone at the school or let it be. Maybe my son forgot they talked about it. Who knows? So, I just talked to him alittle about it and felt better. He was a just one year old when 9/11 happened. We were in the car together going to my real estate meeting. The meeting was called off early when we all realized what was really happening. We left and watched the news with some friends and saw the second tower fall. Of course he does not remember any of this but I know he was there and I remember...

My first blog (does everyone start with this title?)

My blog is mostly going to be about starting a home business. I was under the impression that it would be pretty easy. You sign up. You receive a kit. You e-mail friends and family. Presto - the start of you new business. Well....not so fast now.

What if your warm market (just learned this is your friends and family) is not really into what you are selling, do not have the time, no funds(it is a down market you know) etc.... Where are you to find prospects? You now have to become creative and think outside your comfort zone. Also, now you need business tools such as business cards, flyers, car magnets or stickers.

Wait a minute. What did I get myself into? Well, I got myself into a business. It takes work and time. It takes thought and stradegy. I am the only person that can make it a success and that is what I intend to do. It is hard in this society to be patient and wait for things to pay off. We want things now now now but I believe that I can make this work and that is what I will do.
